Founder's Story

After graduating chiropractic school, I worked a job at a higher volume clinic that was not in alignment with how I wanted to practice. Shorter appointment times, less about relationships and deep connection, more about increasing in person patient volume. The environment was fun, the people were great but it wasn’t the right fit.

After 2 years, I was coming off of some massive burnout and frustration within the industry and wanted to do things a different way. I was looking for a model in healthcare that put the focus on the patient feeling supported and empowered about their options in their recovery path rather than feeling broken & at the mercy of whatever the provider had to offer them. Seems silly to even type this out because I feel like that’s a standard that should be expected but at the time that definitely wasn’t the narrative that I was seeing.

All of my mentors told me that this was largely because businesses that do this don’t survive, and there was a lot of pressure to have extensive treatment plans and commitment to multiple visits a week in order to “keep the machine going”. I just didn’t feel good about that and decided to put trust in a different way.

Aspiration

The Center of Movement aspires to educate and empower the world in making informed decisions to support mental, physical & social well-being. Traditionally society turns to clinicians for answers, we strive to offer options, and information to help inspire people to make decisions about their wellbeing that feels right for them. By cultivating conversation around these topics & creating a collaborative experience between the clinician and patient, together we are building a healthier and more sustainable future for all - clinicians, patients and communities across the globe.
